2026 – 2027 SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS – One way to grow in Christ is to spend time in His Word. Each week we will look at a Bible Verse, spend time on finding it in the Bible, reading, and memorizing the verse together. We will be taking time with the older kids to learn how read the chapter and verse numbers and locating the verse in the Bible. We will also spend time together doing large group activities or experiments that tie in with the Bible verse. Because we are doing Sunday School differently this year with large group items, we do not need as many helpers as last year. Story time leaders: a person or two that would be willing to read the story to the younger kids (reading of the week’s Bible verse along with a short story that ties in with the verse) for 20 minutes and then helping the older kids find the Bible Verse and read it together a few times to work on memorizing it for 20 minutes. Activity leaders: a person or two willing to do the experiment/large group game with the kids, working with the older kids together for 20 minutes, then the younger kids together for 20 minutes. All games, activities, stories and Bible verses are picked out and ready to go, all you need to do is lead it. We are looking for helpers to start September 27th. RIGHTNOW MEDIA – As part of our Vision goal to double our Bible study materials by the end of 2026 we are beginning a new online option called Right Now Media. Right Now Media is a website/Mobile App that offeres Bible studies from church leaders across the world for your use at home, in small groups, or with your family. Follow the instructions below to get started. You can now register for your RightNow Media account:

  1. Log-in to https://app.rightnowmedia.org/join/sjlchurchmn to the registration page for our church’s account.
  2. Use the attached QR code and the church registration page will appear and allow you to sign up.
  3. If you prefer texting, text SJLCHURCHMN to 49775 and you will receive a text back, welcoming you to RightNow Media and be provided the invite link to register.

CHOIR INFORMATION! After a summer break, it’s time for the choir season to begin again. Our choir members love to come together to make music for our worship services. Joining our voices and our bells in songs of praise, prayer, and penitence is both a joy and a blessing. We hope you’ll join us in bringing music to our worship services. Adoration Bells:for youth beginning 2nd Grade will begin rehearsals on Tuesday, September 8th from 6 to 7 pm. Jubilate Bells: for adults and high-school students with experience ringing will begin rehearsals on Tuesday, September 8th from 7 to 8 pm. There will be no bell rehearsals on the 4th Tuesday of each month due to the Board of Directors Meetings. St. John’s Vocal Choir: will begin rehearsals on Wednesday, September 23rd  from 7 to 8 pm Please talk to LouAnn Gotch for more information.
